Adrian Scripps signs Middle East export deal

In partnering with Growers Direct, Adrian Scripps has exported 100 containers of UK apples to LuLu hypermarkets in the Middle East over the past two seasons, the Kent apple grower said.
In recognition of this achievement, Growers Direct, LuLu Hypermarkets and Adrian Scripps signed a Memorandum of Understanding to continue to grow their relationship.
LuLu Group International Director, Mr Salim MA, and Company Fruit & Vegetable Director, Mr Zulfiker Kadavath, visited Adrian Scripps’ packaging facilities in Kent on November 25 for the ceremony of signature.
Adrian Scripps MD James Simpson said he was “extremely happy to be working with LuLu and Growers Direct to deliver high quality UK apples to a demanding customer in a very competitive market”.
“There is clearly a demand for UK apples among LuLu customers, and we are very happy to meet that demand,” he added.
Patrick Broadhurst, Managing Director of Growers Direct, said: “I have known the Scripps business for many years and am extremely satisfied with the way we have worked together to meet the demands of the export. We hope to continue to develop the export activity with them.
