Export Summary – Egypt Seeks Wheat; US sells soybeans to China

February 23 (Reuters) – The following is an overview of global grain, oilseed and edible oil export markets, as reported by government and private sources, as of the close of business on Wednesday:

WHEAT TENDER: Egypt’s General Authority for Commodity Supply (GASC) has issued a tender to purchase an unspecified quantity of wheat from global suppliers for shipment from April 11-21 . The deadline for bids is Feb. 24 and payment is on sight, he said.

SOY SALE: The US Department of Agriculture has confirmed private sales of 132,000 tons of new-crop US soybeans to China.

SUNFLOWER OIL PURCHASE: Turkey’s National Grain Board, TMO, has provisionally purchased about 6,000 tons of crude sunflower oil through an international tender to purchase and import the same volume, traders said. It was reportedly purchased at an estimated price of $1,474.90 per ton c&f from the trading house Prime.

WHEAT PURCHASE: Bangladesh’s national grain buyer bought about 50,000 tonnes of milling wheat through an international tender that closed on February 14, Bangladesh officials and traders said Europeans. Traders said the purchase was made at an estimated price of $390.92 per ton of CIF liner from the Agrocorp trading house for optional sourced supplies.

PAST WHEAT TEND: The Jordanian state grain buyer reportedly made no purchases in an international tender to buy 120,000 tons of milling wheat that closed on Wednesday, traders said. The only two participants are believed to have been CHS and Ameropa. The envelopes containing the price offers were not opened, traders said. A new tender should be launched in the coming days, closing on March 2.

BARLEY AND SOYBEAN MEAL TENDERS: Iranian state-owned feed importer SLAL has launched international tenders to purchase up to 60,000 tons of barley for the animal feed and 60,000 tons of soybean meal, European traders said. The deadline for submitting price offers in the tender was February 23and offers were under consideration, they said.

FEED WHEAT TENDER: A group of importers in Thailand have launched an international tender to buy up to 294,600 tonnes of feed wheat, European traders said. Bids have been submitted and are being considered, they said. Wheat can be sourced from all optional origins worldwide except Pakistan.

FEED BARLEY TENDER: Jordan’s state grain buyer has launched an international tender for the purchase of 120,000 tonnes of feed barley, European traders have announced. The deadline for submitting price offers in the invitation to tender is 1st of March.

WHEAT TENDERS: Turkey’s National Grain Board, TMO, has launched an international tender for the purchase of around 435,000 tonnes of milling wheat, European traders said. The deadline for submitting price offers in the wheat tender is March 2.

CALL FOR TENDERS IN PROGRESS:

RICE TENDER: South Korea’s Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp has launched an international tender for the purchase of about 72,200 tons of rice from the United States and Vietnam, said European traders. The registration deadline to participate in the call for tenders is February 25.

CORN TENDER: Taiwanese buying group MFIG has launched an international tender to purchase up to 65,000 tonnes of corn for animal feed, which could be sourced from the United States, Brazil, Argentina or South Africa, European traders said. The deadline for submitting price offers in the invitation to tender is February 25.
